Who Am I?
When high school arrived, I had to make an choice as to which sport to dedicate 100% of my time. It was obvious, and when all was said and done I knew I was most passionate about soccer. I had an ex-football player for a coach in high school who knew very little about the game. I was behind technically when I entered the college game but my athleticism got me into the mix and among some great players and a good coach. College led me to semi-pro and more amazing players and finally some really great coaching.
I always wanted to coach and started as a player-coach for my U-21 summer team. It was not until my second child was born that I became a serious coach, and student of the game. I was determined that American kids would be able to compete with kids from the rest of the world and come out on top. My younger brother played with the US national youth teams and one of his coaches got me into the National coaching school where I was fortunate enough to be instructed by some of the best and most successful soccer minds in the world.
Every match is a unique lesson to me, I think that is why I am still so passionate about the game. I have run premier programs, town programs, and coached for the state of Connecticut Olympic Development program. I have had to train teams at all levels, both boys and girls. I've trained two year olds, and semi pros.
Over the last few years I have enhanced my coaching program, and am excited about the possibilities the internet has brought me. It easily brings coaches who are hungry for guidance in contact with me so I can help them develop their style and increase their enjoyment. Technique is the most important part of development and my program offers a format that shows you how things are done in a simple footprint diagram, a whole season of practice plans, never before seen drills, as well as all the little games and strategies that will aid everyone from well meaning parents trying to develop confident successful little players to successful coaches just looking for that last edge, or an appetite to learn.
